David B Gelbmann, DPM
Board-certified podiatric physician and surgeon David Gelbmann, DPM, specializes in treating all ailments of the foot, ankle, and leg at Gelbmann Podiatry, with two locations in the Near Southside and West Town neighborhoods of Chicago, Illinois. He has a special interest in the healing of complicated wounds of the lower extremity, the treatment of chronic foot and leg pain, and sports medicine.
Dr. Gelbmann graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with dual degrees in molecular biology and biology before attending the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. Afterward, he completed an intense three-year surgical residency at one of Detroit’s largest and busiest hospitals, St. John Hospital and Medical Center. While he was a resident, he performed 2-5 foot and ankle surgeries per day under the tutelage of Detroit’s best foot and ankle doctors. Following his residency, he moved to Vernon Hills, Illinois, and worked as an associate in private practice before settling in Chicago.
He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and American Board of Podiatric Surgery and board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Gelbmann is a fellow of the American Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing and certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support. In addition, he has published several papers and is a three-time participant and author in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Scientific Literature Review. He is on staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Weiss Memorial Hospital.
In his free time, Dr. Gelbmann enjoys running, playing softball, and spending time with his wife and young children. He also volunteers yearly in the medical tent at the Chicago Marathon and other running events in the Midwest.

Ramsha Ali Tanwir, DPM, is a caring podiatrist serving patients at Gelbmann Podiatry, with two locations in the Near Southside and West Town neighborhoods of Chicago, Illinois. She provides a wide range of podiatric services to patients of all ages.
Dr. Tanwir was raised in the suburbs of Chicago. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Tanwir then finished her medical education at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, Illinois, before completing her surgical residency at Weiss Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Tanwir takes a patient-centric approach to care. She focuses on developing a care plan that is personalized to each patient’s needs, goals, and lifestyle. She specializes in comprehensive foot and ankle needs, including sports medicine, tendonitis, fractures, arthritis, wound care, heel pain, bunions, hammertoes, nerve pain, limb salvage.
During her free time, Dr. Tanwir enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
